Yes. You can scan products for free with 50 credits a month, no payment required and no credit card to start. Paid plans add more credits, more flag detail, and deep scans.
Free tools check reviews only. Every ShopSmart-AI scan also pulls live web reputation on the seller and the brand, then runs it through an AI model. That costs real money per scan. So we charge for volume instead of selling your data or taking sponsor money. The free tier stays free at 50 credits a month, which covers about 25 Amazon scans.
Each scan spends credits: Amazon products cost 2 credits, other sites cost 5, and turning on Deep Scan adds 5. Your monthly credits refresh every month, and any credit boosts you buy never expire.

We gather the product, brand, and seller details, plus public reputation signals from the open web. An AI model then weighs review-authenticity patterns, seller history, and counterfeit indicators. It is not a safety certification, not a legal or product-liability judgment, and not a guarantee. It is a research shortcut. It reads how trustworthy the listing, seller, and reviews look right now. The evidence is public — you could find it yourself, given a few hours.
Fakespot shut down on July 1, 2025 after Mozilla acquired it. ShopSmart-AI does the same job it did, flagging manipulated reviews. It also grades the seller and the brand. So you get a verdict on who is selling, not only on what the reviews say.
No. We do not sell your data and there are no paid sponsors influencing results. Scans are used to generate and cache product verdicts only.
Cancel any time from your account page. Your plan stays active until the end of the month you already paid for, then does not renew. Credit boosts you already bought never expire. If a scan fails or a charge was not what you expected, email us and we will refund it.
